Gruesome murder of 8-year-old boy in Hyderabad

Human sacrifice or a case of financial dispute between killer and victim’s father?

In a gruesome incident, a transgender allegedly killed an 8-year-old boy in Sanathnagar police station limits of Hyderabad.

Police retrieved the body stuffed in a bucket from a drain in Moosapet on Friday.

The victim, Abdul Wahid is the son of Waseem Khan, a resident of Allauddin Koti locality of Sanathnagar.

The victim’s father lodged a complaint with the police alleging that the transgender Fiza Khan aka Imran had killed the boy as part of a human sacrifice ritual.

However, police after preliminary investigations, refused to buy the theory of human sacrifice. Instead, police said the accused committed the heinous crime following financial disputes between Waseem and Imran.

Police began investigations after the boy’s father lodged a complaint with the police on Thursday when he went missing. Based on CCTV footage in the area, police arrested Imran, who confessed to killing the boy and throwing the body in a drain.

Consequently, police arrested Imran and four others for the murder. The victim’s family ransacked his house claiming that indications of a human sacrifice were found. However, the police said the boy was murdered over a financial dispute between Imran and the boy’s father Waseem Khan, who runs a business of readymade garments.

But the horrendous manner in which the transgender killed the young boy left everyone in a shock.

Police said that Imran smothered the victim by dipping his head in a bucket filled with water until he is dead. After confirming that the boy is dead, Imran broke the tender bones of the boy to stuff the body in a bucket and concealed the bucket in a bag and threw it in a drain near Moosapet. Deputy Commissioner of Police Srinivas Rao said dispute over financial matters led to the murder. He, however, said if the victim’s family suspects it to be a case of human sacrifice, they will probe the case from that angle as well.
