Tainted TGSPDCL official in Rs 100 crore club

Satish allegedly paid Rs. 70 lakh as bribe to secure the posting in Gachibowli sub division

Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials were stunned to discover disproportionate assets worth Rs 100 crore amassed by tainted assistant divisional engineer (ADE), Kotte Satish of Gachibowli sub division in Cyber City Circle.

ACB sleuths arrested Satish on February 14 when he demanded and accepted Rs 50,000, second part of the total bribe of Rs 75,000 for approving the work completion report related to the installation of transformer at a residential apartment.

ACB carried out searches at various locations and discovered movable and immovable assets worth around Rs 100 crore amassed by the tainted official.

Official sources said Satish joined the department as an assistant engineer 13 years ago and recently promoted as ADE. It is said he had paid Rs. 70 lakh as bribe to secure the posting in Gachibowli sub division.

Sources said he had acquired as many as 22 acres of land of which six acres is situated in Shankarpally area near Hyderabad, while the remaining land is situated in Karimnagar. In addition, four house plots, one villa on the outskirts of Hyderabad, one plot in Rayadurgam, four storeys building in Madhapur, about 1000 grams of gold ornaments and Rs 3 lakh in cash. The market value of these assets is estimated at Rs 100 crore. Sources said Satish has been able to secure posting in plum places using the ill-gotten money and clout with higher-ups. Further investigation is underway.
