AP: Kanna Lakshminarayana quits BJP

Senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader in Andhra Pradesh, Kanna Lakshminarayana quit the party on Thursday.

He shot a letter to BJP national president J P Nadda saying that he is resigning to party primary membership due to his personal compulsions.

However, after a meeting with supporters in Guntur city of Andhra Pradesh, Kanna told reporters that he had to quit the party because of the behaviour of BJP state president Somu Veerraju.

“I have joined BJP in 2014 because I am fascinated with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I worked hard as an ordinary functionary. Impressed with my performance, party leadership made me state president. But after Covid pandemic, Somu Veerraju has been made the state president I cannot continue in BJP because of Somu Veerraju’s behaviour”, Kanna said. He expressed gratitude to his supporters who quit the party in solidarity with him.
