Heavy rains kill 13 people in Telangana

Thirteen people were killed as heavy rain accompanied by strong winds lashed several parts of Telangana on Tuesday.
Seven migrant workers, including a four-year-old child, were killed in a wall collapse at an under construction apartment in Renuka Yallamma Colony in Bachupally of Medchal Malkajgiri district.
Rescue workers recovered the bodies from debris. The deceased were identified as Tirupati Rao (20), Shankar (22), Raju (25), Ram Yadav (34), Geeta (32), Himanshu (4) and Khushi.
The victims were construction workers from Odisha and Chhattisgarh. Police shifted the bodies to Osmania Hospital for autopsy and took up investigation.
In Medak, two persons were killed while one death each was reported from Warangal and Hyderabad.
Two construction workers – Subrahmanyam, 45 and N Nagu, 35 were killed when a wall collapsed when they were working at a poultry farm near Rayulapur village in Kaudipalli mandal.
One person died in Warangal district when a tree fell on him on the National Highway near Katralaya village in Wardhannapet mandal. In another incident, one person died of electrocution in Bahadurpura area after he touched an electric pole.
In another incident, two bodies were retrieved in the drain near Old Customs Basti in Begumpet. Local police launched a probe to identify the bodies and how they got washed away in the drain.
Heavy rain lashed Hyderabad and its suburbs on Tuesday evening, inundating the roads in a few areas, throwing vehicular traffic out of gear as trees fell at a few places due to strong winds.
