Medak cops brutally torture man for a crime he did not commit

It appears the Indian police will continue to behave like colonial police even after 75 years of Independence.

In yet another case of classic example of Telangana police behaving like colonial policing, the Medak police have allegedly subjected a man to brutal torture asking him to admit to a theft case that he did not commit.

According to information, one Khader Khan was picked up from Hyderabad on January 29 and taken to Medak in a police car. When the vehicle crossed Medchal, police allegedly began beating Khader asking him to accept that he had committed the theft and arrange the gold worth around Rs. 15,000 in one way or the other.

When Khader refused to admit, police allegedly took him to police station in Medak and tied both his hands and legs and beat him up for about two hours demanding him to admit to the crime.

Khader told reporters that he could not tolerate the torture and informed to his torturers that he would admit to any crime they tell him. But police allegedly continued beating him demanding recovery.

“I was in Hyderabad on the day when the alleged theft took place. Since I did not commit the theft, I could not arrange the stolen gold as demanded by the police. So, I had to endure the pain”, Khader told reporters at District Government Hospital in Medak.

It is said even as the police tortured Khader, the actual thief was caught. In the meanwhile, Khader’s condition deteriorated due to the brutal torture meted out by police due to which he was sent to government hospital in Medak for treatment.

He is being shifted to Gandhi General Hospital in Hyderabad as his condition is said to be critical, sources said.
