Telangana approaches Supreme Court in MLAs poaching case

Telangana government on Tuesday filed an appeal in the Supreme Court challenging the order of the Telangana High Court order quashing SIT and directing CBI probe in the BRS MLAs alleged poaching case.

Even as the single bench asked the State to seek Chief Justice permission in connection with its lunch motion praying to suspend the single bench order in BRS MLAs poaching case for four weeks, the State government approached the apex court challenging the single bench order.

Senior Counsel Dushyant Dave submitted before the bench of CJI Chandrachud that there was urgency to hear the petition from the Telangana State Government.

Dave expressed concern that all evidence will be destroyed if CBI probe commences.

The CJI directed Dushyant Dave to bring it before the Court on Wednesday.

The CJI also said that the matter may be mentioned on Wednesday and even if he does not mention it, it will be heard next week.
