ED confronting Kavitha with Arun Pillai in Delhi Excise Policy Scam

The Enforcement Directorate began confronting Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter and BRS leader K Kavitha and Hyderabad-based businessman Arun Pillai in connection with the ongoing investigations into the Delhi Excise Policy scam.

Kavitha joined the probe on Saturday morning amidst high-drama following trading of allegations between BRS and BJP leaders in Telangana. Kavitha’s brother and Telangana minister, K T Rama Rao aka KTR, home minister Mohammed Mahood Ali and several other ministers also rushed to Delhi to express solidarity to their party chief’s daughter.

Arun Pillai was representing South Group which allegedly gave kickbacks of Rs 100 crore to AAP leaders

Kavitha joined the probe after getting summons from ED, while Pillai is already on ED’s custodial remand. Pillai has claimed to be an associate and proxy of Kavitha.

A woman deputy director level official is recording the testimony of Kavitha.

Kavitha was summoned to join the probe on Thursday, but she wrote a letter seeking more time after which her questioning was postponed for Saturday.

On Friday, she also staged a protest at Jantar Mantar. She claimed she never met former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and that her name was unnecessarily dragged into the matter.

According to the ED, Kavitha is also one of the representatives of South Group in Delhi Excise Policy case which allegedly paid kickbacks of Rs 100 crore to AAP leaders.

Meanwhile, there are possibilities that Kavitha might be confronted with Sisodia as the latter is on ED’s remand in the same case.
