Srikalahasthi Inspector Anju Yadav unfazed by the prospect

She first hit the headlines while working as Sub-Inspector in 2003. Then it was for her heroic act of rushing to the rescue of the then chief minister, N Chandrababu Naidu. She is in news again now, but allegedly for her controversial behaviour.
She is none other than the Circle Inspector of Police, Anju Yadav, currently working in Srikalahasthi, a pilgrim town of Andhra Pradesh. There is a growing demand for strict action against her.
Anju was traveling in Naidu’s convoy in the lead car in 2003 when Maoists triggered explosion to kill him. Anju, who was only Sub-Inspector then, rushed to Naidu’s mangled car despite being stopped by her colleagues. She climbed the mangled car and helped the occupants get out of the vehicle. Those pictures hit the headlines.
Anju became so popular that she was posted in the security detail of Naidu as long as he was the chief minister and visited Chittoor district.
As time passed, Anju became CI on promotion. It appears her aggresive nature landed her in controversies.
She allegedly manhandled and forcibly took a female hotelier of Srikalahasthi to police station last year for keeping the hotel open till 10 pm. The victim alleges that Anju Yadav kicked her leaving permanent shoe marks on her stomach, neck and other parts of the body.
Recently, Telugu Desam activists expressed anger over Anju alleging that she manhandled TNSF leader K Lakshman when they tried to burn the effigy of chief minister, Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
The latest controversy involving Anju took place a couple of days ago. A video went viral in which she repeatedly slapped Janasena leader Sai when Janasena activists were staging a protest.
Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan met Superintendent of Police of Tirupati and demanded stern action against Anju Yadav. However, it is alleged that Anju is unfazed by the prospect as she enjoys the patronage of ruling party.
