Congress alleges huge corruption in thermal power projects in Telangana

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Revanth Reddy has accused the BRS government of large-scale corruption in setting up thermal power generation plants in Telangana.
Addressing the media at Gandhi Bhawan on Monday, he alleged that KCR government takes 30 per cent commission out of every project from the contractors. He also said Congress party is ready for a debate with KTR on 24-hour free power supply and prove that BRS’ claim is false.
Referring to the alleged corruption in thermal power projects, Revanth Reddy said that the BRS government ignored the central government’s promise to provide electricity at a cheaper rate. Instead, it invited tenders worth Rs. 45,730 crores for KTPS, Yadadri and Bhadradri thermal power projects. Though BHEL won the tender, all the civil works in setting up the power generation plants are delegated to the followers of KCR after collecting 30 per cent of the project cost as commission, he alleged.
He reminded the January 30 statement of TS TRANSCO CMD, Prabhakar Rao in which the latter alleged revealed that the 24-hour electricity being provided is only of single phase. Free electricity is the patent of Congress.
Accepting the challege of KTR for a discussion in Rytu Vedika, Revanth Reddy said he is ready for it at any place of KTR’s choice.
Reacting strongly to KTR’s comments on Rahul Gandhi, he criticised that KTR knows nothing about agriculture except for “dudlu, budlu, bedlu” (money, liquor and beds).
The TPCC president called upon the Congress party workers to stop KTR wherever he visits and question him on his comments against Rahul. He appealed to the farmers and party workers to tie the BRS MLAs to trees until the promises of 24-hour three phase electricity, loan waiver and podu land pattas are fulfilled.
The elections this time will be a referendum for the KCR regime. That is the reason why he is afraid of contesting from Gajwel and is also bothered to give tickets to sitting MLAs, Revanth Reddy claimed.
