BRS jittery over Etela’s whispered elevation

It appears the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president K Chandrasekhar Rao aka KCR, who is busy these days in expanding the party to other parts of the country, is worried about his former colleague Etela Rajender.

The worry is not about Etela’s wellbeing. But KCR seems to be worried about Etela’s possible elevation as BJP state president.

Yes. There is lot of murmur in political circles that BJP state president will be replaced soon. Two names are doing rounds for the next BJP state president’s post – one is Union tourism minister Kishan Reddy and the other is Etela Rajender.

While some analysts say that Kishan Reddy could be the next president, with the BJP are in favour of Etela’s leadership. Sources said that party cadres are not fully confident about Kishan Reddy’s leadership because he allegedly has an internal understanding with BRS top leadership. Due to this reason, Kishan Reddy never tried to develop the party in the state, the sources said.

On the other hand, Etela, who crossed swords with KCR after facing bitter humiliation will take a tough stand against BRS. Since he is well aware of the KCRs moves, Etela can effectively plan and execute counter strategy if he is made state president, sources said.

Sources also said that Etela has the blessings of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is number two in party’s central leadership.

Analysts also point fingers to the confidential directions KCR had given to BRS leaders before and after Huzurabad by-election not to make personal attacks on Etela while criticizing BJP so as to ensure that Etela’s stature is not elevated.

Analysts and sources within BRS told The Wallpost on condition of anonymity that despite such directions, Etela won the election and became a force in BJP.  Sources further said that party cadres have some doubts over present state president Bandi Sanjay and strongly opine that only Etela can give tough fight to KCR and his party. In this background, KCR and BRS leaders appear to be nervous in view of the forthcoming elections. Consequently, the BRS seems to be trying to create doubts on Etela by praising him in the Assembly and elsewhere apparently to stop him from getting an elevation, sources said.
