Change of BJP chiefs in Telugu states part of deal with BRS, YSRCP?

The change of guard for BJP in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh is seen as an understanding between the party’s central leadership and the BRS in Telangana and YSRCP in AP respectively.

It may be recalled the BJP national leadership on Wednesday appointed Kishan Reddy and Purandeswari as the presidents of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh units respectively replacing Bandi Sanjay  and Somu Veerraju.

Political pundits say that BJP is worried about its performance in the North in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections with the Congress gaining strength. So, it requires the support of BRS, YSRCP and Biju Janata Dal in Odisha. Since there are political compulsions for these parties, the three parties have some understanding with the BJP.

Analysts say that the BJP needed such faces who can ‘enact’ the drama of fighting the BRS and YSRCP and make the common people believe that the party is fighting the regional parties in power with all its might, whereas the truth is something else.

Political pundits say that Kishan Reddy in Telangana and Purandeswari in AP are highly capable of fulfilling the requirement of the national party.

Political pundits say that those who have a nose for politics have already sensed this fact. Though this deal may help the BJP in retaining power at the center in 2024 elections, the party is bound to lose several leaders in the two states, the analysts said adding that the migration of party leaders from BJP to other parties is the indication.

Sources in the BJP said leaders like G Vivekanand (Vivek) are all set for a switch over. He is said to be joining BRS, while Raghunandan Rao is also said to be all set to go back to his old party.
