Raja Singh appointed as Hyderabad LS constituency in-charge

It appears the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is getting ready to give a shocker for All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief and Member of Parliament from Hyderabad Lok Sabha Constituency, Asaduddin Owaisi, in the forthcoming elections.

In response to the call of Home Minister Amit Shah to the Telangana BJP unit to ensure victory in more than 10 LS seats, the state unit had appointed incharges for the 17 Lok Sabha constituencies on Monday.

Surprising among the 17 names is that of its legislator from Goshamahal Assembly Costituency, A Raja Singh. He has been appointed as in-charge for Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency.

It may be mentioned here that Raja Singh has remained controversial with his provocative speeches and strong anti-MIM challenges. In fact, he was under suspension from the party for some months before it was revoked and party ticket was given few days before the recently held elections for the Telangana Assembly.

The BRS and MIM together tried their best to defeat Raja Singh but failed. Thus, he achieved the hat-trick win from Goshamahal constituency, which forms part of Hyderabad Lok Sabha Constituency.

It appears the BJP leadership now wants to give a tough time to Asaduddin by appointing Raja Singh as the in-charge.

All eight newly-elected MLAs of the party and a Rajya Sabha MP are among those made in-charges.

Rajya Sabha member K. Laxman has been appointed in-charge for Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency. MLA Aleti Maheshwar Reddy will be in-charge for Nizamabad another MLA D. Suryanarayn Gupta has been given the responsibility of Karimnagar. Adilabad MLA Payal Shankar will look after Adilabad Lok Sabha constituency.

Former minister Marri Shashidhar Reddy is in-charge for Warangal while former MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy is entrusted with the responsibility of Khammam constituency. Senior leader and former MLC N. Ramchander Rao will look after Mahabubnagar.

Other in-charges are Ramarao Pawar (Peddapalli), K. Venkata Ramana Reddy (Zahirabad). P. Harish Babu (Medak), P. Rakesh Reddy (Malkajgiri), all MLAs, MLC A. Venkata Narayana Reddy (Chevella), former MLC M. Ranga Reddy (Nagarkurnool), former MLA Chintala Ramachandra Reddy (Nalgoda), former MLA NVSS Prabhakar (Bhongir) and former MP G. Mohan Rao (Mahabubabad).
