Kabali producer nabbed with narcotics

Yet another film personality in Telangana has been taken into custody for possessing and consuming narcotic drugs.

According to reports, producer of film Kabali, K P Chowdary has been taken into custody by Cyberabad police on charges of possessing and consuming narcotic drugs.

Sources said some quantity of cocaine has been recovered from his possession.

Superstar Rajnikanth played the lead role in Kabali feature film.

It is pertinent to mention here that Telugu film industry is reeling under the drug menace.

Dozens of film personalities such as reputed director Puri Jagannath, actress turned film maker Charmy Kaur, Rana Daggubati and several other upcoming actors were grilled in connection with drugs by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) some time back. However, the actual findings of the SIT were never made public. Now, with the arrest of Kabali producer, the connection between drugs and films has come to light again. Police sources said the fresh arrest and his questioning will lead to more arrests in the industry as well as narcotic drug trade.
