‘Only Kavitha is safe in Telangana’: Y S Sharmila

YSR Telangana Party president, Y S Sharmila on Wednesday said only chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter K Kavitha is safe in the state.

She spoke at the dharna held in protest against KCR rule and in solidarity of women in the state on the occasion of World Women’s Day. However, police arrested Kavitha to foil the protest and shifted her to Bollarum police station.

Speaking on the occasion, Sharmila alleged that except for Kavitha, no other woman in the state is safe. In fact, KCR has no respect for women. Foul language is being used against none other than the Governor. Abusive language is used for criticising government’s apathy towards women.

Kavitha has been MLC after she lost election and trumpeted it as the respect given for women.  And Kavitha carried out liquor business without any shame. She harmed the reputation of women with the liquor scam, Sharmila said.

The YSRTP leader also ridiculed Kavitha’s proposed protest in Delhi for 33 per cent reservation for women. “33 per cent is not implemented in Telangana where her father is chief minister. Her father gave less than 10 tickets for women in two terms of the assembly. The female members in the cabinet are dummies,” Sharmila said adding that her silent protest is against KCR regime’s apathy for women.
