Beware! Con woman on prowl

Beware! A beautiful woman is on prowl, who traps rich men into marrying her and then flees with cash and gold ornaments from the marital home.

Tamil Nadu police is on the lookout for the con woman, Rasheeda, who is believed to have married and cheated eight men so far in different states.

This startling information came to light when her eighth victim, Murty, a resident of Taramangalam in Salem district lodged a complaint with the police.

Murthy, a financier came into contact with Rasheeda over social networking platform Instagram. They fell in love and married on March 30 this year. Soon after marriage, differences cropped up between the couple.

In this background, Rasheeda decamped from Murthy’s house with Rs. 1.5 lakh cash and 50 grams of gold ornaments. He lodged a complaint with the police. During investigation, police found that Rasheeda is a native of Gudalur in Neelgiri district. She befriends rich men using fake social media accounts, then marries her target and few days later decamps with the cash and gold ornaments from the marital home, police said. According to police, Rasheeda married eight men in Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Efforts are underway to nab the absconding con woman, police said.
