Fellow Indian held for killing Akhil Sai in US

In a serious twist to the case of accidental death of Mahankali Akhil Sai in US, it has emerged that the 25-year-old man was shot to death by a fellow Indian.

It may be recalled Sai, a native of Madhira in Khammam district in Telangana, who was thought to have lost his life when a gun went off accidentally in US on Monday, was actually shot to death by a compatriot.

He went to US 13 months ago to pursue masters in Auburn University and worked part time in a gas station.

Montgomery police arrested Raviteja Goli, 23 in connection with the murder of Sai. Initially, Raviteja is learnt to have told the police that Sai died when the gun went off accidentally.

However, police investigations led to the arrest of Raviteja. He is now in the Montgomery jail.

His family has requested the Indian government to help in bringing the body home.
