Not Kavitha, but its target Kejriwal !

The leaders and cadres of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) heaved a sigh of relief as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) allowed BRS MLC, K Kavitha to go home after nine-hour questioning.

However, the tension for BRS is not yet over. The ED asked Kavitha to appear for questioning again on March 16. Interestingly, the ED has secured custody of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and former Deputy CM of Delhi, Manish Sisodia till March 16.

It is pertinent to mention here that a report was published in these columns stating that the ED may not arrest Kavitha on Saturday.

In fact, the target of ED appears to be Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The ED has given enough hints in their application seeking custody of Manish Sisodia. The probe agency had said in the application that the chief minister and deputy chief minister are part of the excise policy scam.

It appears the ED had tried to elicit information from Kavitha by confronting her with another accused Arun Pillai so that they can nail Kejriwal.

Pillai was representing the ‘South Group’, which allegedly paid kickbacks of Rs 100 crore to AAP leaders.

Their statements were recorded under Section 50 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

AAP leaders have been claiming that the BJP is afraid of the growing popularity and impressive performance of AAP across the country. The AAP leaders time and again went on to claim that BJP feels AAP as their potential rival and no other party including Congress is anywhere in the picture.

If these claims are given any credence and the way in which two ministers of AAP were arrested in different cases, in all likelihood the ED will extend its long arm towards Kejriwal sooner than later.
