Telangana: Three public servants held on corruption charges

Three public servants walked into the trap laid by the Telangana’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in two seperate cases.
In the first case, a deputy executive engineer (DEE) of the irrigation department of the north tanks division was arrested at his office in Secunderabad when he demanded Rs 5 lakhs and accepted a bribe of Rs 4 lakhs from the complainant.
According to ACB officials, the tainted public servant, Yatha Pavan Kumar, demanded the bribe from Gopagani Ramanamurthy, a builder to process and forward the NOC permission file for the construction of commercial building at Shantinagar in Uppal.
In another case, ACB sleuths arrested incharge sub-registrar of Gangadhara in Karimnagar district and senior assistant working in his office when they demanded and accepted bribe of Rs 10000 from the complainant.
According to ACB officials, the tainted officials Shivarapu Suresh Babu and Kothakonda Sridhar demanded the bribe from the complainant Ajay Kumar to do registration of the gift deed related to four guntas of land.
The arrested tainted officials were produced before the designated court and sent to judicial custody.
