Two revenue officials in Telangana nabbed for graft

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths of Telangana on Monday arrested two revenue officials for demanding and accepting a huge bribe of Rs. 1 lakh from a land owner.

The arrested include Nelli Srihari, Revenue Inspector of Shankarampet mandal in Medak district and Guduri Talari Suresh Babu, Village Revenue Assistant of Chandampet village in Shankarampet mandal.

According to a release issued by the ACB Director General, a trap was laid on a complaint lodged by Papannapeta Srinivas.

The official release said that Nelli Srihari demanded the bribe for processing a file related to correction in the pattadar passbook of the complainant with respect to 22 guntas of land in survey number 1313 of Sangayapalli village in Shankarampeta mandal.

The release said that Srihari demanded and accepted the bribe through Suresh Babu. Both the corrupt officials were arrested and both their hands yielded positive result during the chemical test.

The accused officials performed their duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage, the release said. The arrested officials were later produced before the designated court at Hyderabad pending further investigation, the release said.
